The District Advisory Board shall be composed of the district superintendent ex-officio and up to three assigned ordained ministers and up to three laypersons elected by ballot by the district assembly annually or for terms not to exceed four years to serve until the final adjournment of the next district assembly and until their successors are elected and qualified. However, their terms of service may be staggered by electing a proportion of the board annually.

When a district exceeds a total membership of 5,000, it may elect one additional assigned ordained minister and one additional layperson for each successive 2,500 members or the final major part of 2,500 members. (205.14)

A vacancy on the District Advisory Board may be filled by the remaining members thereof.

The board shall elect from its membership a secretary, who shall carefully record all actions of the board and promptly transmit them to his or her successor.
